Default Transmission Hesitation in Reverse.

Just bought a 09 c300 and when i put the car in reverse there is a slight hesitation before it actually backs up, took it to the dealer and they said its normal sometimes you just have to apply some gas to it. Is this what you guys are experiencing too?

How many miles on it?

Fresh fluid and filter never hurts... especially if you start doing it routinely every 30-45k miles.... rather than waiting until it goes 100K before thinking about servicing the transmission.

I am having the exact same problem. I bought a used 09 C300 and there have been about three times I noticed it didn't grab the gear when putting it in reverse. I was also having some ticking in the engine. My car is at the dealer now (still under warranty for a few more months... score). They are replacing the bearings and lifters for the engine tick, but haven't been able to duplicate the trans issue.

Let me know what you find out.

There is a flash that can be done for the delayed engagement into Reverse. by delayed i mean about 3 second delay, a very noticable delay. Some customers complain about the smallest delay which is normal. There is a procedure that can be done but the car needs to be left overnight at the dealership. The procedure is supposed to be done on a cold transmission.
