TRANSMISSION FLUID 1997 C280
I'm looking for the dipstick for the transmission fluid to see if i need to top it up or just to check it out. I cant find it, any help PLEASE...
How do i know if I need to flush it or if the transmission is about ready to change? |
RE: TRANSMISSION FLUID 1997 C280
me too if someone one could please tell us were it is cause i think i have to change mine
also i think one way to see if the fluids ready to be flushed and changed is when u pull the dipstick out see if the fluid is pinkish and if its not pinkish then its time to change it also u have to check it wen the cars running. thats what some people told me, correct me somebody if im wrong. |
RE: TRANSMISSION FLUID 1997 C280
if you have a in line 6cyl or even a v6 its on the passenger side rear , on the v6 its behind the egr valve , if you have the straight 6 its by the rear of the valve cover , usually with a red cap , If you have a 722.6 tranny(electrical you need to use mercedes-benz tranny fluid(non-conductive) ,unfortunately its about $25 a quart , if interested I have access to fluids and filters for much cheaper prices , please e-mail me at vwgti2005@aol.com if any questions.

RE: TRANSMISSION FLUID 1997 C280
Change the fluid with MB PN# 001989210310. It's commonly available over the internet for around 10 bucks/QT with no shipping charge on 8 qt or more. (BTW, you'll need about 8 qt. for a fluid change. If you have the 722.6** tranny with a torque converter drain plug, you'll be able to replace approx. 7.5 qt. If no torque converter change plug, count on 6.5 qt. )
Here is an internet source. |
