Stubborn CD Changer in C240
 

Okay, ya'll did such a great job diagnosing my earlier problem, that I thought I'd throw you another recurring problem at you for expert help!

2001 C240, did not come with CD Changer - but Radio configured for CD (CD Button). Had MB Dealer install CD Changer post-purchase. Dealer also had to run the cables from the Radio to the glovebox location of the Changer. (Don't know if the cables were run, but tucked up under the dash). Anyway, after about two months operation, the CD Changer started to skip audio during playback, and eventually it stopped working with the Radio indicating "NO CD CHANGER" in the Radio display.

Three weeks ago, the MB Dealer replaced the CD Changer with a new unit and all seemed well - for about a week. Last week the CD Changer started skipping audio again, and this week, it will not eject the Cassette/module that holds the 6 CDs, and the Radio again reads "NO CD CHANGER."

I'm not sure if I'm dealing with two separate problems, or a recurring, single problem. The unit is warranted for 1 year, so I will be taking it back to the MB Dealer again, but I was wondering what some of the smart folks on this forum may think/suggest?? Thanks! /John

You might try disconnecting it from the power source and reconnecting it 10-30 seconds later it worked on my cd changer. However mine showed a no magazine message.
