service light indicator

can anyone till me if there is a way i can reset service light on a 203 series c class? the car has only done 3000miles since last service,it is showing service due on time not mileage.on the previous model it was possible to reset it manually,

just because you havent' driven over 3000 miles doesn't mean your oil is still good. the molecule structure of your oil breaks down over time. the molecules spread further apart and no longer provide the correct lubrication and protection. get an oil change or the inside of your motor is going to pit.

try:
Turn the key to "on" (not start).
With the key in "on" position, push the trip meter reset button twice quickly,
the remaining miles to next service will appear.
hold down button, and with your other hand turn the ignition off, then back to "on"
again. KEEP holding that button down. It will take about 10 seconds
the new miles (KM) remaining will appear in the odometer

if it has been a while it is probably a good idea to change your oil, although synthetics are better moisture can still be a problem
