Hi,

I went to the dealer to price out a set of the c230 sport rims. For some reason the rear ones, which are wider than the front, are cheaper!

I figured I can just order 4 rear rims. The parts guy thinks it's too wide for the front as it's 17 X 8.5 for the rear and 17 X 7.5 for the front. Just want to get the opinion of the board members if I can run the 8.5 in the fronts with 225/45 17" tires all around?

I don't know weather or not they will fit in the front. However since they are staggered, the offset will be different and you may have rubbing in the front either from a sway bar or wheel wells. 225's all around should not be an issue at all. Some one on this forum has 255's on the rear of his car and it looks bad ***. I have a picture of it on my home computer and I will post it later. Maybe just buy 2 rears for now and test fit them on the car and see if they fit okay and if they do, order another set.

That is a good idea! I may just try and pick up a used set or different rims, as the dealer parts are pretty expensive.

Yes that is nice...I believe those are the Toyo's T1S's as well!
It's a little too agressive for the look I'm going after. It's really funny how the rear sizing and the tire manufacturer can change the appearance of the car. I have the Toyo T1S's on my mr2 supercharged and it looks really sporty, but mine are only 205's...haha.
