Thanks for the input......all parts are OEM Bosch...scanner codes were confirmed by a top end scanner. Cannot imagine myself cutting open a new wiring harness.

Yesterday I pulled all the plugs to see what was happening....nothing of note. Cleaned out the throttle body while I had things apart. Also continue to look for vacuum leaks (suspected) but cannot find any.

After I worked on the car...drove it........came back......shut down...restarted ......and threw another CEL......yikes this time a P0507 (idle speed higher than anticipated) ....did a RESET and will wait and see what happens next.

I note that the driveability problems only seem to occur in "open loop". Given that the only sensor involved would be a temperature sensor ...... water temp/engine temp ? and where would that be..water pump ?????? I need to get into the books ....this one is unusual.

I understand that the parts you installed are all bosch but where did you get them? Dealer? Aside from that, you need to check the harness. You can close it back up with electrical tape(use cloth elec tape) and a couple zip ties. The high idle may possibly be caused by using too much throttle cleaner or the common failure of the throttle actuator. The vehicle will learn the idle speed stop in koeo position 2 after about 1 min. The books are not going to help you, sorry.

i just took all my intake filters out and cleaned it (they were incredibly dirty and clogged up) could have caused poor air passage. then i removed the MAF sensor and cleaned it with CRC MAF Cleaner put everything back and so far so good. hopefully it stays that way.

good luck with yours!

Can you update us on what is your curent situation?
Did the trip to the dealer help.
Did you do anything else?
Most of us have been able to clear this problem by replacing the MAF.
Make sure you don't get a salvage part on this one.
I know a new one is expensive, but and old one is not the answer.
It is possible to get the MAF element inser separetely and using ansecurity star tool replace the old one.
germanstar.net is the only one I know that sells that insert. Costs less than half the MSRP.

I DID NOT go to a dealer but issue was resolved with a NEW MAF. The EBay one turned out to be junk andgetting a refund from the Ebayvendor was a pain. NOT RECOMMENDED!

I'dagree that people should spend the extra money for a quality product....will save money /time. Note that discount vendors are available as opposed to the mega buck dealers.

It was a long arduous effort and since the very first thing I replaced was in fact the MAF. All the other stuff was time consuming and for the most part an unneeded expense. On the plus side....I became more knowledeable about the beast.

OK....thats my story.....
