Radio very cheap and quality is not good
Does anyone else agree, the radios and speakers in 06 c230 suck, I hear this units are all fiber and the only way to correct this is to replace everthing. Hate to do that all I want is some volume and some thump.
Thanks foreveryone reply:D |
RE: Radio very cheap and quality is not good
I agree. The Mercedes audio systems are just disgraceful by today's standards. I have a 2005 C230K coupe and I think the sound system is a joke. The only reason I haven't ripped it out is because of the ipod integration which I paid through the nose for when I bought the car.
Have you noticed that the front door speakers are amplified but not the rear ones? |
RE: Radio very cheap and quality is not good
Since you both have w203's,I have a question. How do you adjust the bass and treble on the standard w203 stereo? I could access and adjust the balance and fader viaone of the"soft keys" like I do on my other car butnot the bass and treble. I was given a C230 w203 as a loaner from the dealer but it didn't have any owner's manual, so I couldn't look things up. Just curious.
Thanks. |
RE: Radio very cheap and quality is not good
Press the button with the two music notes, then use the soft keys just like adjusting the fader. One good thing is you can adjust the bass and treble settings for each source (radio, cd, cd changer, aux, sat).

RE: Radio very cheap and quality is not good
I have an 05 C230K with the H/K system and it sounds pretty good. I do agree that I don't hear the rear speakers but the sub puts out ok bass.
I am in the process of adding an addition sub/amp 1200W range. I might also add another amp for the rear speakers. |
