Default Qestion? HID conversion for 06' c230

I just recently bought a 2006 c230 sport. i love it!!! i just have one problem, i tried to install an HID conversion kit and it's not working correctly!!! the lights flicker then go out. then on the gauge cluster it says default. my friend told me that the car is doing that because HIDs bulbs run at lower wattage than the stock bulbs so the computer in the car is reading the bulb as defective. is this true? what can i do to get this kit working? or is there a certain kit that i can get to resolve this problem?

it is true, some kits come with special wiring harness. but i think that if you take the car to you dealer they can reprogram it

Most Mercedes dealers will refuse to program it because it's non-OEM product.

which hid kit did u get? from past experience with imports, when it flickers it either means you might have a defective ballast or some of ur wires are grounding out.

Regular HID kits will flicker on Mercedes vehicles and they will require dealer programming.

To jinyoRS:
I also had the same flickering problem when i first bought my HID Kit. your friend is rite. Since the hid bulbs use lower wattage the car computer automatically tries to turn off the lights because it thinks they are defective and thats why they flicker on and off. You would need to buy a newHID kit. You should buy the one K1 is selling. I put that HID kit on my car and it works perfectly fine. I have pictures posted on the forums. Its probably on the 2nd or third page if u wanna take a look at wat it looks like. My advice would be to go with 4300K.
