Power Seat Fuse Issue (Drivers side 2004) C230
Yet another problem .......
My drivers seat lost all power function. I checked the fuse in the box located in the trunk and it was blown. I replaced it and things worked fine for about a month, until recently when it blew again. I replaced it yet again and this time it only lasted about a week. Im assuming the issue is more than just a fuse??? Any help or sugestions would be much appreciated !!! |

You have a short somewhere in the wiring. Could be a pinched wire and when the seat moves to a certain position it blows a fuse. Start with the wiring under the seat, I'll bet you find a wire with some worn insulation that is pinching or rubbing on metal when the seat is moved. Thus blowing a fuse.

I checked all the wiring and nothing seemes worn. The rear heating vent was covered by the floor mat so perhaps the heat may have caused the blown fuse?? I replaced the fuse with the passenger seat fuse(still stock) and replaced that with one i picked up at the local auto store. Hopefully that will solve the issue. For now I'll just have to wait it out to see if the fuse blows again.

The bottom of the seat cage needs to be replaced. That includes all the motors and wiring. I believe its the motors that short out..
