Default oil in radiator? Help!

serious question! our '95 220 has oozing brown sludge in the coolant reservoir and the car is overheating. (it bubbles over like a bad witch movie.) There is obviously oil in the coolant and it is gross. Anyone have experience with this? I took it to the dealer tonight to have it looked at, but want an on-line opinion. thanks for your help... this doesn't sound good I'm afraid.

Thanks!

cylinder/cylinder head gasket is bad.

you should mention that your engine got overheated once, and no coolant on it.

Sleep is correct.....blown head gasket. If it were mine, I wouldn't drive it. Oil in the antifreeze can also mean antifreeze in the oil.
NOT good depending on the nature of the leak.

Thanks for the assistance. The dealer wants 2,500 for a new head gasket just for starters. we only took it there because it just had an oil change there three weeks ago and all checked out, so it was a logical place to start I talked to my provate shop. (Genisis Motors in Kirkland) (He does only Mercedes and a few others.) and he is going to do it for 2,100 including a new radiator, timing belt, and thermostat. I think that is best since he'll be in there. I'll have it towed there tonight.

Thanks again. What a bad day!

It would be cheaper if you bought the parts yourself and had them installed. I know when I had an overheating issue, the mechanic wanted $400 for a radiator. That night I bought one for $207.
