Where is the oil drain plug on the 2001 C240???

RE: Oil Drain Plug
If it's anything like the later model C230K, you have to remove the two black plastic belly pans to access it.
Just a few hex-head screws holding them on. Maybe only one panel on your car, but two on mine. No big deal. I do it every time I change my oil. ;) |
RE: Oil Drain Plug
The drain plug is not at the bottom of the pan.
It is in an awkward position at the side on theright side of the pan just above if you are under the car. Shan. |
RE: Oil Drain Plug
On the C230K the plug is on the driver's side, same deal, sticks out the side just off the bottom of the pan.
It also has a soft copper washer on it, which MB says cannot be reused, but it can be. Don't lose it and be SURE it goes back on the drain plug the same way it came off, or it will leak due to the impression in it from the hex head that imbedded itself in the washer. I only mention this "re-using" the washer thing because some people will pull that plug and not know the washer fell in the drip pan being used to catch the oil and make that mistake of not noticing it. ;) |
