Is the 2005 supercharged?
While I agree the C230 with the 6 cylinder is smoother, or maybe more linear is a better description, I was really let down whenI drove it. I had to drive a 2006 C230 as loaner and it is a soul-less dog. I walked away thinking to myself that I would much rather own a cheaper, morereliableand zippier Camry (ouch).I can only compare tomy W202 C230K which isn't a speed demon, but it is certainly quicker thanthe current normally aspirated C230.Four cylinders are easier to work on (more space for better access) and proven engines. You do have to get used to the supercharger sound and how it comes on with a rush.

A good year for a C230K? 2005. Get the newest one you can. The car is already 3-4 model years old and the less milage the better on the C230 - in my opinion.
My 2006 C230 is at 41,000 miles and I am having suspension issues along with a few other small things starting to show through.
I am not the best help here - but I will say this. Even though the modifications on the 2007 C230 vs the 2006 seem small and cosmetic they were clearly learning from feedback. In the 2007 they modified some materials in the interior as the aluminum trim in the older C230 shows scratches and such quickly, the suspension is heavily beefed up and the car is just tighter and more responsive overall.
Anyways - I am sure you've got the feedback you need but just know the C230K was discontinued for a reason - I don't know why but if it were a good engine and a better edition of the C230 they would have carried it over to 2006 - just a thought.
