No sound from radio & backup camera doesn’t show
So I have a c300 2018 and the battery died one night so when I jump started it the sound in my car no longer worked nor did my backup camera. The radio works fine everything shows up perfect but I get no sound , and I’ve checked all the fuses and took it to a couple dealers who couldn’t figure out the problem then I finally took it to benz and it literally took them hours to figure out the problem so they said i new a new command center and they weren’t even sure . So I was wondering if i purchase a brand new radio for my car would that maybe fix the problem ? And is the command center different from the actual radio itself ?
Sounds like you may have inadvertently fried the command center (probably). Not sure how that could've happened but hey, the dealership has gotta know something right?
The radio itself and the command center are two different things. The command center has multiple responsibilities, but it is the dial/**** on the center console you use to navigate the radio and other apps on the center screen.
I would just rely on the dealership recommendation, I would not play everybody's favorite game of "Parts Shotgun". A wise man once asked "How many parts will it take to fix your car?" and the answer is "All of them." Meaning, unless you know WHICH PART EXACTLY is the issue, then any part(s) you replace you're just throwing away money. Granted, your dealer admitted they are unsure. Better the dealer be unsure and take an educated guess than you the DIY Guy being pretty sure and making wild guesses. Electrical work is not fun or easy depending on who you ask.
