Default Need adive on Exhausts

I want to change my exhaust for my C320 sports coupe. I am trying to give it that VROMMM when I hit the gas. So ive been looking at some good exhaust on ebay. I see some for about $10.00 such as (
DTM TITANIUM, JDM T304). But then I see some other ones which arre chrome which go for about $150 this is a huge price difference. I am unsure which should I buy or is there any other sites out there which sell cheap exhauts? Also is it hard to install an exhaust? Should I bring it to the shop and have them install it? Would anyone know how much they would charge. Thanks.

If your going to a catback exhaust for $150 you system will rot very quickly. The present system is SS and will last forever, my wife had a 94 Audi and the system was SS the only thing that was replaced in the 11 years she owned the car was a bracket. You could have the "rear muffler" which is a silencer for the most part and get a better sound. If your state has strict pollution laws, it might not pass inspection. But think abut this you own a Mercedes, a very nice Mercedes at that, do you really want it to sound like a hot rod. I changed out the stock air box for a CAI by B&B and now the engine sounds "tougher" and the "sound" kicks in around 3K rpm so you don't have the annoying rumble so exhaust products. Also, IMHO the car is faster. go to www.performanceproducts.com they have a good assortment of after market exhaust system made for Mercedes cars, you want an AMG sound and not a JDM sound.

No I didn't say that, I said you can change from the cat back or have the silencer muffler cut out and a pipe welded in place, the stock end muffler will sound better but you might have trouble with polluation inspection in some states, especially if they have CAFA standards, like my state does.

I'd recommend a catback exhaust too if you're going to do anything. Just changing the muffler or tip makes noise, and will probably make you notice a decrease in performace and gas mileage. Check Borla, I'm pretty sure they make cat-back systems for the c230.
