Default My C280 is sucking gas like a $2 *****

I have recently bought a 1999 C280 with 97 000km on it, and I am not sure if it is supposed to be draining my gas so quick. I can get the fuel filter checked, but has anyone got any information on the gas mileage I should be getting? I bought it 2 days ago and have already spent $110CDN on gas (it is full now). I have traveled about 250km. Is this typical for a 2.8 litre? I have recently switched from a civic so it might just be me, any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

Civic for sure has better gas mileage compred to C280. You can improve gas mileage with ECU tuning.

Thank you for the response, what details can you give me about tuning? Do you service yourself or at an MB dealer? Can you also tell me what you think is a good single audio deck? I have my eye on the Clarion 665. I hear some people say aftermarket reduces sound or bass. Is this a crock of sh*t or can a professional get around it? Thanks for the help man.

You don't tell what the actualmiles/km per gallon/liter is, so we really can't advise. You can look up your car model on one of the used car sites like Edmunds and find out what the mileage rating was supposed to be when new. Then you can see if your car is really far off from that. This should give you a good clue.
