I have 2003 Mercedes C230 Kompressor with factory installed sound system. I would like to add the ability to listen to MP3 music.

How do I choose MP3 player? How do I hook it up to existing system?

There is an empty compartment under the stereo, some kind of shelf.
Is there a way to utilize it for an electronic device like MP3 player, GPS or AUX adapter while leaving original unit in place?

 

You will need to locate the input harness plug. This topic was brought up on another site and some say they have the plug then some say they could not locate the plug. The plug is located on the passanger side under the kick panel and others have said it was located in the rear right side of the glove box. I don't have the plug in my glove box and I have not tried to remove the kick panel to see if it's located there.
