Motor mounts
for those that have a car with over 100K miles.
I was experiencing a strange vibration and noise. I thought it was drivetrain related, but the problem was the motor mounts.
How to check?
Put the car in drive.
Press the brake pedal and hold down.
Press the gas pedal with the other foot and if you experience a lot of vibration. That's the motor mounts.
They are about $100 each and labor is a few hours. For me, it cost $600, but the end result was the car felt like brand new!!!
What a feeling!!
Apparently, the new style motor mounts can wear out. It they start at the 10OK+ range.
