Default More on CD changers

Or in my case, quite possibly a 'moron CD changer' question. Just got an 05 C230k Sedan, it has the changer but no magazine. There are 2 possibilities listed for it here: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-51ck0Js...ms&i=581MERC99 under the changer itself. Is the less expensive one a 'non-US' edition?
I was told that it's an Alpine unit, but some searching about doesn't seem to confirm this. I guess I'd just like to know what magazines are available for this that will work.

Also, how much of an ordeal is it to connect an ipod shuffle to it?

Yes, I tried using the search here. Maybe I put in the wrong keywords, but I didn't really find a direct answer in any of the old posts that it found.

^^ I get the impression (maybe incorrectly?) that it would be quite a bit more expensive from the dealer. If that's what I have to do, fine, but if not then it's rather like setting currency on fire.

So is it an Alpine?

i can't be sure if it's alpine but the part number should be: A 002 820 62 89.

it is Alpine, but finding a spare Alpine magazine is more difficult than ordering direct from Benz.

also...there are several variations on Alpine changer magazines....one that goes in BMW is different from the one that goes in Accord which is different than the one that goes in MB. just slightly different.

Was having the airbag recall thing done today, and I got the magazine at Autohaus of Pompano. It was only $25, not nearly as much as I thought it might be. That was the part number also if anyone else has this issue in the future. Thanks.

why not considering the case of an Alpine s634 (audio & mp3) with the "mercedes-alp" adapter to connect it to the existing system ?

This is the config Alpine italy suggested me for my euro C220 CDI...

About Euro 400 / 450 for the whole equipment....
