michelin pilot primacy
Any ideas about Michelin Pilot Primacy? I am planning to switch from ContiSportContact2 as one of them is causing a bad humming noise. I am looking for a 225/45-17 size tire that would give the best ride and noise comfort.

I just bought BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires in that size for the front of my C230K and could not be happier.
Bought them at COSTCO tire center for about $100 each and there was a $60 off coupon when I did it just recently
but I think you had to buy four to get the deal, which I did. I had Michelins on it from the factory and they wore out like a cheap flip-flop on the Atlantic City boardwalk. I replaced them with another Michelin with a higher tread-wear rating. They were OK for the first half of their life, then developed a roar at 20 mph like a B-52 inside the car. Horrible. The new BFG's are so much better and quieter and have the same performance on the street as the Michelins. At least on my car they do.
I know this is going to peeve some people but one tire I would never buy again is the Kumho Ecsta. Had a set on a previous BMW and they were awful. Got what I paid for. A lot of people love them because they are cheap and sticky. But if you think your car roars now, ha! Wait till those Kumhos wear and you won't even be able to drive it. You can also go to tirerack.com and check the "reviews" on all the tires in that size and read what people say that have bought that tire. Just a thought.

They were not the Primacy. I haven't tried that tire on any car I've had, only the Pilot Sports.....both kind.
The Primacy tires were on a C230K that my dealership uses for a service loaner car. I noticed they were very
quiet riding when they gave me the car for my last trip there under warranty. Hope that helps.

I'm thinking of getting Avon Tech M550 A/S. Tire Rack users put them tops in class: above the likes of Michelin, Pirelli, etc.
Anybody got them?
