Mercedes C220 CDI 2000
hello
my question is what shows the bas/esp light, what can be wrong, i haven't watched that does the car have brake pad sensors |
laf1247,
I recently changed the rear brake pad sensors and the ESP light came on. I simply turned off the ESP button on the dash board and the ESP error had disappreared. I guess the brake pads would have been fitted correctly, otherwise, this error would have come back. |
Hi Mercedes Gurus:
I have recently bought my first used Mercedes(C220 Cdi, W203) and I still have to deal with few problems and like to know about these problems myself first and hence saving money:) 1) Brake Lining wear, visit workshop (I have changed the rear pads and front pads are already good. I was hoping that it will disappear but it had not) 2) My hand brake does not come back to its position after pulling the lever and car thinks, I am driving with the hand brake on. I was hpoing that by changing the rear pads, this problem would have resolved, but it has not. I have currently pulled the hand brake up with force, so that each time I drive, I don't hear the bleep and a message with red light in the dashboard. 3) My driver side electric seat has stopped working. I have checked the fuses on the right to stearing wheel and also in the bonnet and all seem to be working. I have to drive in an ackward position as I can't move the seat back in a comfortable position. 4) My car makes annoying noise like a timing belt in the engine when it starts, but I have been told, it can be a water pump belt. 5) I have also done the service in the car and like to remove the service message in the dashboard. I did read few messages but none of these seemed my car specific, I will really appreciate any tips from any mercedes expert mechanic or owner. |
Just change the brake switch ,, its around £12 from delears n it will rectify the problem.
