Lock/Unlock Chirp?
 

I had a quick question.. I have an 06' C230sport and a buddy of mine has the same car only I noticed when he hits the lock/unlock button on his smartkey his car makes a chirp/beep along with the lights flashing when the doors lock or unlock where as mine only has the lights flashing. I was wondering if it was a feature you turn on somehow or if his came equiped with a different alarm system or something? I would like to turn on this feature on mine if possible. please help!

i have an '03 CLK 430 and my alarm system does the same as yours. Like you, I also want the chirping sound along with the blinking lights. I'm going into the MB dealer on Sat, Nov. 18th for a service maintenance appt. I will let you know if I find anything out and please let me know as well should you find something out. Thanks.

Netherlands setting... should be able to get this programmed through stardiagnose.

My experience is --

The higher the class a car is -- the less noise it makes....including the alarm arming.

The lower the class a person is -- the more noise he desires....including the alarm arming.

It probably has to do a lot with the upbringing and the neighborhood one grew up in.

Just my observation. No pun intended.

Yes that is it, I grew up in the ghetto, lived in the city park until I was 19 and was raised by bums and wolves who also lived in the park.

Kidding aside, half the time I cant remember if I armed my alarm and too would like to hear a chirp. Note that on a sunny day you wont see the lights flash. I took my 02 C230 coupe to the MB dealer today and ask them to turn on the chirp, they said they cant turn it on on that model. Has anyone turned on this alarm chirp funtion in the US on a c230 coupe?
