Damn...what have I been on all these past few days?? I just got an awesome deal from a guy who posted last week on craigslist and I totally forgot to do a CarFax!!! ...

Mercedes-Benz C240 (black), yr 2001 *4dr sedan*..w/ 40k for $16,900

I went to see it in person and the car was really just off the hook...everything looked nice & crisp! I ended up buying this machine without running a Carfax first..Thats how you know I was unable to control my emotions!.. ahhh man...

To get to the point... Can someone PLEASE run a carfax for me for this vehicle..I've been stressed out lately thinking if this guy jipped me or not..Let's hope not..

Why don't you post a link to the CL ad for the car?

Better yet, why don't you explain to the class how you can drop 17K on any sort of car and first 'forget' to run the carfax, then suddenly be 'unable to afford' the $20 item.

'Tight budget' indeed. I guess when you are running what appears to be an obvious scam, you'll stoop to anything.

Man; I've never seen a Carfax before. So it tells you, what? That it's a car? That it passes emission tests?

I don't think it's worth the $20.

A CARFAX report is good to find out things like lemon law claim issues, accident reports, possible mileage distortions and issues with smog certification. It also will tell you how many times the title has changed hands and to whom. Remember, only public records are accessed, so an accident that may have been repaired without insurance involved, you know, "fixed" at home, will only be disclosed if the owner lets the DMV know about it voluntarily.

Dry reading but useful in deciding whether to purchase a vehicle.

never knew what a car fax looked like either... interesting.

and i gotta say this but if u're out to buy a vehicle (especially a mercedes) how do all of the sudden have a tight buget?... yeah u gotta put a down payment and all but seriously?

BE CAREFULL!!! please keep your vin personal. i know were all buddies on this forum, but it is a big no no putting your vin number on here, you never know who is on the internet lookin for information. not trying to be mean, just lookin out for you. operational security!
