Bad news 4 you,
If you want iPod you gotta pay the $375 for the integration kit and another $400 or so for the labor. I just picked my 230 up last friday and wanted iPod connectivity so I shelled out the goods. I thoroughly inspected the glovebox and armrest for connections and none exist. My car came with the Audio 20 single CD system with the telephone keypad and all that other stuff but no "waiting connection points" in the glovebox. Sorry to break it to you but you're looking at around $700-$775 to get connected.

That's all well and good but now your iPod won't charge whilst driving and you'll be like one of those people swerving into my lane of traffic because you're messing around scrolling through your iPod to find the artist you want instead of paying attention to the road and being able to use your steering controls for that. Honestly, with what the car costs it is worth the extra $$ to do it right.
The kit is well worth the money and I absolutely love mine. It's definitely a DIY install but you have to be careful when you're removing the torx screws behind the center A/C vents as they tend to escape and hide. I had an 02 C230K coupe and I did a DIY Alpine/iPod install with JL Amps and subs and the interior comes apart easily enough if you can locate all the clips. The only reason I had the dealer do mine was because they included the labor in my deal and seeing as it is brand new I didn't want to take a chance on scratching the beautiful birds eye maple interior trim. Nonetheless you can do it yourself, just be patient.
Double B- I don't have a link for you but if you go on to the MB website and go to their accessories page it's in there and it should have a part number. If it doesn't or you can't find it let me know and I'll call the dealer that did mine and get it 4 you.
