Intermittent window problem (1999 C-230K)
I have a strange window problem that my local mechanic was unable to fix. Typically, the front windows will not operate. Sometimes the locking system is also impacted. I have replaced all the fuses, though they tested good. Sometimes, if I switch fuses around, it fixes the issue for a few days. Though I just tried this method and now the front-left and rear-right windows are not working. The problem does not occur while the car is running--in other words, if I roll a window down, I can always get it back up before I turn off the car. Problems arise when I forget to roll a window up before turning off the car, then can't get it up when I try again.
That the windows work intermittently and sometimes the locks are affected tells me it's not the window motors. I have replaced all the fuses in the engine area and the rear trunk that are listed as related to windows.
Any thoughts?
