I'm impatiently awaiting the arrival of my Sport Grille and flat hood emblem for my 07 230SS. They're scheduled for delivery on the 8th and I've decided to plan Friday as the install day. Additionally, I have a set of Maas 19x8.5 C024 wheels and Bridgestone 235/35-19's that should be ready for mounting on Friday as well. Many thanks toTom from K1 for the grille and hood emblem. I think I'll be ordering the DEPO projector lights and HID conversion next, and hopefully some clear corners if he can locate a new supplier. BTW Tom- After installing the DEPO's do I need to have the headlights re-aimed??? Along with these mods I've ordered a set of H&R springs and beefier anti-roll bars for the front and rear but no ETA on them yet as they're listed as "Low Stock" items. I've already done the 20% on the windows and debadged the trunk as well as having the factory iPod integration kit installed. Since my car did not come pre-wired for phone I'm trying to get Motorola to respond to my questions about compatibility of the IHF850 or IHF1000. Last but not least is the audio system...which requires about $500 worth of product just to be able to have the factory head unit accept aftermarket amps. I'm going with the JL Audio Clean Sweep DSP and SSI modules and keeping my 250/1 sub-amp and Alpine MRP F250 four channel amp for mids and highs. The guys at my local shop said JL advised them to call about 3 days prior to attempting the install as it is extremely complex and labor intensive for the 07 MB's. They guestimated 8-12 hours and about $800-$1000 for labor alone.Gotta love it. I asked a tech at JL why they don't make stealthboxes for MB and he said that it's typically an older persons car and they aren't interested in upgrading the factory radio. Maybe it's time for some new market research???? As soon as I start getting everything installed I'll be posting pics periodically.

 

Enjoy the installs this weekend. For DEPO lights, you may or may not need to adjust the levels. Measuring before & after levels is recommended to accuracy. Argos Bluetooth kit for your car is expected to be available within a month. Works with stock radio.

 

Thanks for the info Tom. Is the Argos kit going to be priced similarly to the other years kits? ($799) or close to it? My other concern is the compatability of my phone (Sony Ericson W810i) with the Argos kit. Is the factory connection point still in the left hand trunk/wheel area on the 07's? I can't wait for the weekend. I would have had the wheels on already but when i went to get them installed a couple days ago the fronts were hitting the brake caliper by about .5-1 mm. Just enough to scuff the finish on the caliper. They distributor kept insisting they fit with no problems and after a couple of days of telling him they don't I ended up ordering a set of 3mm spacers to give me the clearance I need. I was bummed and then mad that he kept telling me I was wrong that they fit. Once I get them on I'll forget all about it I'm sure and at only 3mm they won't stick out and look stupid and shouldn't really cause any undue stress on the rotors or steering and suspension components.

 

We offer Argos kit at $50 less to forum members. It is fully compatible with W810i.

I got my grille and hood emblem today and installed them in less than 10 minutes. They look great and I can't say enough good things about K1 Motorsport, they ROCK! I'll post pics by the weekend.
