Default how to change the oil

I just purchased a 1991 300CE and I am having some trouble getting the cap off that covers the oil filter......do you need a special tool or is it supposed to come off easily. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Although I'm not familiar with your model vehicle, if it's anything like most of them, there is a large "nut" built into the top of the cap, right? Or is this not what you have? If it is, just get a box end wrench that fits it, or a socket if you have room for one, and twist it off. Make sure you are not tightening it! I know that sounds dumb, but......you wouldn't believe how many people do that. The cap will have a rubber O-ring, and the filter "kit" may have a couple for the filter holder. You'll see them. Lubricate them with a little oil and replace them with each filter. Hope this helps you.
