Hi all,

As a new member and a newborn darkblue mercedes C200 "classic" driver I have a few questions.
For start the car is almost 4 years old and the carfront has some stonemarks (small)
1)Is it possible to get rid of them by using some kind of wax (i'm carblond, so i do not know mutch about those things).
2) What is the best way to makethe car really shine (is it wax or are there other and better products to use?)
3) What product is the best for making the windows go open and close without making scratches or noises?

Hello, welcome and congrats! You can use a silicone spray on the rubber for the windows just don't over do it or you'll have a mess on our hands. If the stone marks up front are more than surface scratches you'll have to end up repainting(sorry). I wouldn't recommend any of those infomercial scratch remover wonder creams on a MB, and if you try using factory touch up paint you'll be able to see where you've applied it. If they are just surface scratches take it to a reputable detailer or body shop and ask them to buff and polish your car. It'll cost you around $350 or so but you won't believe the difference in how your car will shine. Good luck and take care.

Thank you for the promt response.
I think I am going to let the dealer take care of the polishing. Its a few euro's but in the end the best thing to do.
For the silicone spray, are there products that are good or are there some thing i need to mind if i buy one?

I think if you look for products that are designed for rubber applications you should be okay. You just don't want something that'll start to deteriorate your rubber around the windows and again just remember to use it sparingly. Good choice to have the dealer do the polishing.

I go to a local carshop and also let them advice me and togheter with your advice I will be ok i think.
This would give the the best chance to get a good product.

Welcome Aboard RAF;
If you really want a excellent shine, wax
Use Dishwasher soap to STRIP the old wax, grease, oil, sap etc from the paint. Dishwasher soap is brutally strong.

Run the back of your fingers over the paint.
If you feel grit, pebbles etc then
You need to use POLISHING COMPOUND to remove the grit

Please DO NOT wax over dirt!
Its silly what I see folks doing.

Once your paint is baby bum smooth you can use
Meguiars NXT Wax
It is AMAZING.
Trust me when you see the results.

If you windows are making noise;
You can grease up the window tracks before you wash/wax.
If you don't have patience for that, shoot some
WD-40 or Spray lube into the Window Tracks, then move the window up and down and spray again.
Sounds like your tracks are old and dried up.

After this you can wash then wax the car.

I'm going to look if i can find the product you named for waxing.
The window is ok now with the siliconespray i buyed at a carshop.
