Hello- I have a 2004 230C and when I went to fill it today the gas cap cover wouldn't open. I read in the manual this is supposed to lock and unlock along with the doors. I assume the motor is burned out- any way to manually override this w\o damaging the paint? Any other possible causes\solutions?

jimmied the lock to open the cap and cut the stupid pin off w\ a bolt cutter. problem solved.

 

There should be a manual release **** located behind the right side trunk panel and felt pad.Just pull the release **** while simultaneously opening the fuel filler cap.
