Help a noob: C230 Supercharger Specs

Hey guys, great site! I just registered. I have a 2004 BMW 330 and I was thinking about doing something involving the stock supercharger off of a 1999 or 2000 C230.

My question is, do you guys know any specifications for the stock SC? How many pounds of boost does it put out and info like that.

Anything will be helpful!

Thanks alot!

It's an Eaton M62 if I'm not mistaken. They use the same thing on the Lotus Exige and the Pontiac GXP. So don't give me that attitude.

Well geeze, if you know the model of the SC, then here's a link on the Eaton M62: http://www.automotive.eaton.com/prod...argers/M62.asp . From the charts, it looks like it boosts either 5 psi or 10 psi; maybe it's adjustable over that range? Editted to add: just read that the M62 is used on the blown Cobalt, where it produces a max of 12 psi.

As for putting it on a BMW, a different section of Eaton's site says:

Is the supercharger available for aftermarket applications? The majority of Eaton supercharger applications have been designed for specific OEM applications. This is due to the fact that each engine application has unique hardware installation requirements and the design criteria of the supercharger is matched to the specific engine. Recent interest has, however, been shown in this market and has resulted in aftermarket applications being sourced through Magnuson Products. Current applications include: Miata 1.6 and 1.8L, Honda 1.6L, and a 5.0L Mustang kit available through BBK Performance.

Why not go with a kit that's been tailored for the 330 in the first place, like: http://activeautowerke.com/supercharger/e46330/main.php ? To do an SC implementation, you'll need an intercooler, ducting, and software mods too, right, and rolling all of that from scratch would be a pain, wouldn't it?
