heating problem 97 c280
 

Hi everybody, I am a new owner of a Mercedes. I bought two weeks ago a 1997 c280, 87K. After a week I discovered that the heating does not blow hot air to the feet, the AC display shows that the air is blown down to the feet but in the reality it is blown on the windscreen:(. What could it be, has somebody had this kind o problems and how to solve it? Thank you very much for your help.

your a/c unit is the one with two big knobs or with digital display?

sleep....dorin mentioned "AC Display". so i guess (s)he has the digital kind.

welcome, dorin. good news: you bought a good car, congrats. bad news: even if everything is working properly, don't be surprised if heating and air-conditioning system in your Benz does not obey orders.

though you may have chosen to have the air come out from the foot and or windshield vents, from time to time, air will come out from the front face vents.

also note that....EC means AC OFF. unlike other "regular" sane cars, in a MB like yours, AC compressor is always ON by default. if you do not want it, you have to intentionally turn it OFF by hitting the EC button and a little red light will come on as if you did something wrong.
