Heated Mirrors & Washer Fluid
Hello All.
Before the dealer thinks im nutts!! (cuz they already think i am!) It says on all the specs for my car that i have heated mirrors and washer fluid. in my 2003 c230 kompressor sedan. I think i recall the mirrors heating last winter, but yesterday in the rain, they didnt dry up. Do they dry up rain too? how do u turn them on if I have them? AndAlso, I've never experienced heated washer fluid and I live In NY so it snows here. Does anyone know if that was standard equippment and mine just may not be working. I would like to know so I can take advantage of my Bumper to Bumper warranty!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks~! Billy |
RE: Heated Mirrors & Washer Fluid
Both heated mirrors and heated washer system are standard equipment.
They cannot be turned off and cannot be turned on. They are always "on". The heated mirrors are probably tied into a sensor somewhere since they don't turn 'on'in the summer and are not designed to dry the mirrors. They tend to only operate in cold weather and by default melt ice, clear fog and may actually dry the mirrors in the winter. As for the washer system, the fluid is heated by the heater coil passing through the liquid and the nozzles are electrically heated when needed (again, only when the outside temp is cold). In short, if both the mirrors and the washers are working in the winter then everything is working as it should be. |

I thought the mirrors heated up when the heated rear window was activated & the nozzles by default!!

Sorry Arn560, but just to set you straight the heated mirrors definitely work without having to engage the heated rear window.
