front wheel bearing
I have a front wheel bearing thats shot. I only had it done a little over a year ago at the dealer but I do not think the mechanic was that great. Anyway I'd like to give it a shot myself. I have had the cap off and the outer bearing out and that was easy. When I run the bearing in my hand I can feel a vibration so thats it. Can anybody tell me, if I bought the bearing kit, inner , outer, etc ..... is it easy to do the whole job? Any special tool to press the race in??
THanks

I found it quite easy. I don't recall using the press to put the new race in. Taking the old race out is as easy as using a hammer and a drift/punch. Be careful not to marr the sides of the hub where the race seats in.
Be sure to get a new inner seal too! Work the grease into the bearing before you get it together. It'll get a little messy so maybe get a few sets of rubber gloves to make it easier on yourself.

You can just drive the races in with a hammer and an appropriately sized socket. It should be large enough to touch the race but not so large that it would get stuck!!!
