Front Shutter / Limp Home Mode

Hi All,
I am new to the forum. I recently had my c240 sdn out on regular driving and on pull out from a stop, I felt a slight shutter in the right front, like rumble strips. Shortly afterwards, I noticed what I believe is limp home mode, as the car would rev. very high but only travel about 20 mph at best. I got the car home, but I can only go forwrad. No reverse or other gears. ANY IDEAS ? NEED HELP. ( Check Engine Ligt Is On ) No know problems previously

RE: Front Shutter / Limp Home Mode

My suggestion would be to scan the OBDII for a code to tell you why the check engine light is on.
Many places will do this for free. Is there an auto parts store close by you? No charge for them to do it.

I understand you only can go forward and this is not convenient for you, but you're probably going to have to
pay for this anyway no matter where you take it. ;)

RE: Front Shutter / Limp Home Mode

Thanks for the help. I believe I have a guy that can read the codes. I'll post back with any news. I realize now that the shutter was actually a rumble strip after all on the berm of the roadway. I have spoken with Mercedes Benz and they think it is most often a selector module or something like that, that got wet or a wiring harness issue. Does this sound right ?
