erratic idle

My C200 year 2002 W203.
If the car is not run for 2 or 3 days, when started the idle speed goes up and down.
After playing with the gas pedal for a few times, it steadies up.
Am I heading for some problems?
Any help please.

It could be anything from a mechanical sticking to an electronic sensor malfunction. Do you ever push the engine? I'd run it out at 5K rpm for a stretch once a week and see if that has any effect. Other than that I really don't have a clue. Still under warranty, right?

Hi RocksolidI'll try your suggestion the next time.
Do you think I should just rev up the engine or take it for a spin on the expressway?
Unfortunately my 3 year warranty just expired.
