Electrical issues
Hello,I'm new to the forum and recently purschased a 1998 C230. Love the car, butalready experiencing my first problem with itand hope that someone can help.
I had the car parkedovernight without any problems and the next day my remote wouldn't open the door. Batteries in remote were good, but to be sure I put in new batteries and still nothing. I opened the doormanually andthe alarm went off, stuck the key in ignition started carthinking the alarmwould turn off, but it didn't. Ended up turning the alarm off going through trunk. Wierd part is thatalong with the remote, thewindows, turn signals, wipers, doorlock switch, trunk switch, rear head rest switch, power seat and front dome light are not working.Figured it was a fuse, but they're all good. Also, checked the fuses with a test light and all is good. Is there a relay that covers all listed above? I was thinking it might be the key, but the service rep at MB said that a bad key wouldn't cause this and it sounds like a fuse. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
hold the open door button untill all the windows and sun roof open then hold the lock button till the doors lock and ALL of the windows close all the way. that will fix your problem.

I have the same problem-- with the same car!! My solution so far has been to remove and replace EVERY FUSE IN THE SYSTEM with a new one. All the old fuses checked out good?? A hair line crack that doesn't show or does r&r ing the fuses reset some other device?? I was hoping to fine out here!

make sure the seat is plugged in first. under the seat there are some plugs there and also at the back of the control unit there are more plugs too. make sure they all plugged in.
