Default seat

I have a 1998 clk 320. Only 88,000 miles, runs great, minimal problems until recently. My driver seat does every adjustable function except the forward motion of the seat, it will go forward to a certain point then stops. The dealer told me I need a new motor for $1500. I don't know much about cars but it seems odd that every other motion works except forward. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

the first thing to check is the fuse in the trunk where the spare tire is. small black box with a cover on it, passenger side at top of spare tire to right. there are some fuses there for your seats check them i bet you find a blown fuse.

Thanks for the advice. I did check the fuses a couple of weeks ago and they were ok....last night I pulled the fuses again, moved the seat all the way back and checked for debris in the track, moved the cords under the seat around and yes!! it works. I can reach the pedals again. Thanks for responding.
