Default check engine reset

I recently read that you can pull a fuse to reset the computer and avoid radio code problems. I believe the fuse is #32 in most models. Can anyone shed some light on this? thanks.

Default RE: check engine reset

Hi,

I had to reset my "check engine" on 1996 C280 sport.
Just disconnect the Negative battery cable, then wait about 15 min and then put it back.
It should do the trick and reset the computer. That's how I did mine. I don't know about the radio though.
Mine is replaced by aftermarket one with 12 CD changer and I did not have to dial any code . It just works fine after connecting the battery back.
