I went to the dealership and they were going to charge 100 bucks to run diagnostic and they wanted the car for a couple days.

I went to one of the quicky oil change places and they charged me 19bucks printed out the copy and reset the light in a matter of 2 minutes.

Code P0410 Sec. Air System Malfunction.

drove for a couple hours no light on yet, but does anyone know what the usually issue is with that code?

basically, the secondary air injection system 'cleans up' the emissions during the first few minutes after engine start up i.e. it's whole life cycle and existance is for 3 minutes of a cold started engine! seems like a lot of $$$ and mtc for 3 minutes but globally it probably saves a lot of ozone.

1999 C230 68K miles.


I drove it for around 300 miles since it went on. I had it reset and it still has not come back on yet. Probably one of those little glitches that these cars seem to have.

 

unless u have driven city stop and go traffic, it is probably a glitch.

 

It's been a while and I have driven a lot and it never came back on.
