CEL 2005 230 is it time to get rid of
 

This car has me spooked for some reason. Gets all kinds of little electrical hiccups but nothing last although just had to replace key because it would not turn or start.

CEL has been on for about a month. Car runs fine. Just got it back from dealer to replace key and light was off for a fee days and just came back on. Dealer said battery was a little weak bit did not say anything else.

What are likely causes for CEL? Is valve guides or any other expensive concern a possibility for the 2005 motor year. I am thinking about trading it now and getting something with a warranty just to avoid expensive repairs.

the check engine light can have hundreds of causes. a common one is gas cap was loose. you need to get the codes read at a shop and the code will tell you why the light is on.
