CD player in C class won’t play
 

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=black size=2>I own a 2002 C Class Sports coupeand have recently discovered that the CD player will not play the latest music CDs which have thenew copy protection software in them (ie to stop CD burning). Unfortunately, most of the new CDs are going to contain this technology - which means that I will only be able to play my old CDs (no new ones!!!)</FONT></P>


<FONT face=Arial size=2>I played the same CDs in my wife's Golf (2001 model) and my friend's Toyota (2000 model) and all were fine.I cannot believe that my Mercedes is only 15 months old and the CD player will not play the latest CDs. I have spoken to my Mercedes dealer - who has advised that they do not have a solution to the problem (although they are hopeful!!)and thatall of the new C classMercedes are effected.</FONT></P>


<FONT size=2><FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Has anyone else experienced this same problem with the C classs CD player?Is anyone aware of a software fix to the problem?</FONT></FONT></P>

Hmmm.</P>


I haven't heard of this problem. I have an '02 C320, and my CD changer has been replaced twice...so I would expect that I have a pretty recent player. Still, I haven't had any problems. I burn my own CDs and purchase new ones all the time. I haven't found any brand (or label) CD that didn't play in my changer.</P>
