Car will not start?

I went to lunch last Thursday, when I came back out to my car after an hours time, I open the door where it was very hot in the interior, I noticed the the temperature was stuck on 100 Fahrenheit, when I turned the ignition I only get three clicks, which leads me to believe that it is an issues with the solenoid starter or the wiring. After a huge hassle having it towed, the dealer refused to look at it for some odd reason, the supervisor was outlandishly rude about it, even went as far to insult my car which even pissed the tow truck driver off. Ended up leaving it at a pep boys, the technician tells me that the driver side door refused to lock with all the others, which was never a problem with me even when was trying to start it and the car can not be put in neutral unless the car is turned on but I forget if that is actually how it works normally.

Now the issue is my car will not communicate at all with their computer but all the power is working completely fine and arent sure if its in some accidental anti theft mode, they recommended that is an wiring issue so I should try bringing it to a electrical specialist but I sure do not feel like having it towed again so does anyone have any ideas? My guess is till the starter.
It is a 2009 c class

those C classes have issues with the steering lock. when you put the key in the ignition does the steering wheel unlock? if the engine will not crank at all, but you can turn the key, it could be the steering lock, even if the steering wheel does unlock, but the car wont do anything when turning the key, it still could be the steering lock. also make sure the cars battery is in good shape first!!

I managed to get the car into the dealership after bitching to the owner, they did a 2 hour diagnosis then a 6 hour, they weren't able to get it to communicate with a computer either but it turns out the ignition switch failed and then the steering did lock up so it's looking like $1800 for the parts and labor plus it needed a new battery either way

Now they had those parts replaced and are able to communicate with the car, and they are telling me that the pre amp fuse box has bizarrely been blown out and fried, apparently for that to happen it would take the force of something like a direct lightning strike to cause that, but it was sunny and hot the time I parked so I am stumped, will be $570 for that. Also they found a dead rat but no chewed wires
