Default Is this car a total loss?

I know by glancing at pics it is impossible to tell, but I hope maybe someone who is a MB certifiedcollision person or has some experience with this could get a good sense by looking at it if they will decide to fix it or salvage it. It lost all of the fluids from the front end. Radiator, transmission coolant line??, and I think it was the AC line that was hissing for about 5 mintues after the collision.

It's a 2007 C230 with 22K miles and the market value in my town is about $25K.

An 18 y/o kid made a left turn in front of me and first impact was at about 40MPH. Speed of second impact in to the utility pole is unknown but not much slower. Left front is collision w/other car right front is collision with pole. SRS deployed. Impact was so hard, a pin in my metal banded watch broke and my watch was wedged between windshield and dash.

Click on the thumbnailspix..even if they don't show up!

I've seen them repair worse too!
I drive cars until they DIE and this was fairly new. I hate the thought of driving a wreckedbenzo for the next 10 years. It will never be the same. I think it will be a money pit.

I hope they total it.

They're offering some nice incentives on 08's. I'd like to get in to a C300 next.

It all depends on the adjuster at this point. If the damage exceeds or comes close to I think 70% of the vehicle market value then yes "but" again it all depends on your adjuster.I seethe airbag deployed so they may chalk this as a loss.Do you have any GAP insurance? Is the vehicle stillbeing financed? These will come into factor possibly.

I don't have GAP insurance but I don't think I'm upsidedown on it... I owe about $23K and my guess is the MV is between $25 and $27K. The MB dealarship has about 6 (same year same options) listed all for $27,501. I'm sure they're high. I'll fight for at least $25K.

If you know that's the MV in your area then most likely the insurance will write it off as a loss. You don't have to go to their body shop either for an estimate.
