c280 running very rough

my 1997 c280 runs great for any distance if i do not slow down and then speed up quickly. if i just start from stop slowly and speed up slowly it runs fine. i can pass if gradually done up to any speed, but if i rapidly speed up then it begins to run rough. never completely dies, but idles rough. have had the mass sensor replaced, plug changed & looked @ by 3 mechanics. no luck... the check engine light has been on long time.

any suggestions?

1997 C280 Air Mass Sensor #2

I bought a 97 C280 with 31,000 actual miles on it and have had it for 5 years. There was cylinder problem and had to put alot of money to repair.
They installed a new air mass sensor and 02 sensors and I just took it back to the MB dealer (same place it was serviced by previous owner and purchased from) because I was getting black smoke out the exhaust and was running rough. Now they say I need to replace the air mass and o2 sensors AGAIN the air mass @650 and 02 sensors @250 each?? Why are they having to do this??? This car now only has 70,000 miles on it?? I need advise please... I am not a mechanic by no means, but this does not make sense to me at all!!

you're right it doesnt make sense, how long has it been since you had the major work done with the cylinder problem? what exactly was the poblem? is this still the same reoccuring problem? or diffrent?then how long since the O2 sensor and mass air sensor? try a diffrent dealer?

Thanks for reply...in Dec. 2007 had #6 replaced along with a few other things why they were in there, oxygen sensor replaced at this time. The car had 32, 000 miles on it, the people I bought it from had bought it new, but did not drive it much in 10 years, they kept it stored winters and only drove it summers. Took it back to the dealer (the only one within 200 ++ miles from me) in June 2010 womopression was low in #5 they sent cyl head to shop and replaced 2 exhust valves and the air mass sensors. (54,000 miles). Took it back in Sept. 2010 for a top cover seal leaking @56,000 miles and again May 2011 for conductor plate bushing seals leak @ 62,000 miles and now I just took it there a week ago because it was blowing black smoke at exceleration. I don't have many choices of where to take it because where I live. The codes it gave me from (Auto zone) were PO141, PO300, PO304, PO135,PO130,170,and 410....I would really like them to do their job....there is no reason this car should not last for many years.... Im wondering if it was a lemon??? I just want to be educated before they over charge me again.
