Default C280 1995 Help

Would anybody know how to find out which the function of a hose that is in the interior part of the trunk, beside the steppe tire and the box of fuse of the battery? It is a hose that crosses a small hole and it proceeds for part of bass of the car.

It is that today when removing the steppe I noticed that she is free, the same happens with her in the part of bass of the car, and now I don't know where she is linked and which his/her function.

Thank you.

That is the acid overflow hose for the battery.

There may be other fancy name for it, but the name I mentioned describes its function. So I'll leave it as that.

If you have the correct battery for the car, it should have some form of exhaust or return or overflow port. The hose connects to that.

If the battery has the acid vent and it is not connected to that plastic pipe, you can be sure that acid has been spilling all over inside your trunk underneath that carpeted cover.

If you have a completely sealed battery, then you need not connect that hose.
