Hie Guys. been asking around what could be the cause of a gear sticking when i give it a kick-down and normalises when the engine is switched off and re-started. One mechanic that has done a number of mercedes benz cars says he needs to open the gearbox, clean the valve body with petrol, re-tension the springs and change the oil. This he says will solve my problem. I am not too certain if i should go ahead with this. I have had some guys saying there is some electro plate that needs replacement, some say the oil filter may be clogged, some suspect low oil level though there is no sign of a leak while mercedes benz says they have to replace the valve body at a hefty cost .

Please help me make an appropriate decision. :

 

I have had the same problem with my C270, changed the electro plate in the gear box along with new gear oil, it's been 8 months now and it is fine. Hope this helps.
