This problem could be as simple as....transmission is in Winter mode or "W".

Check that. If so, put it back in "S" or standard mode.

Anybody could have accidentally thrown that switch to "W".

Yes, W mode is equivalent to toe old C or comfort mode and makes the car take off from 2nd Gear and upchange faster. It makes for smoother driving once you get used to it, but put it back into S mode if you want it to be more punchy. Also, there is no 'turbo-lag" with superchargers.

It's probably the airmass sensor, Iv'e experienced the same until I changed it.
(200 Euro in Sweden)
It was like a new car after that!

The gearbox is also adaptive, perhaps you have to do a "teach in"

C240 is V6 engine and C230 has Kompressor.
Silvano, you may want to consider gettin' Underdrive Pullley System which will make noticeable difference.
On top of that, if you do ECU tuning, it'll help even more.

I have a 05 C230 K-Sport Sedan and noticed some lag in the transmission and hesitation as well. After a couple of visits to the dealer, I requrested that they reset the Adaptive transmission back to factory. Although they couldn't find any problems with my transmission, once they reset the adaptation back to factory, my car is so much more peppier and responsive. Call your dealer and request to have this done.

Can you or someone describe this "Adaptive trans" in a little more detail? Also, how can you prevent this from happening over again?
