C240 Slow Moving!

Hello everybody,
I need help for my C240, it is 2002 Car, automatic transmission, very nice and smooth driving but, when starting from stop, it takes few seconds before moving, it looks like the Car is thinking before starting!
I am a previous Porsche driver and I don't expect something unreal but, this Car is also dangerous, from my point of view, when moving in the fast traffic, because of hits very slow trottle response!!

I have already changed the Air Filters by using a K&N ones!!

Thanks for helping me in finding a better performance for my Car!

I drove a Porsche and Z3 for many years, and now have a C280 and it performs well. Excuse my ignorance but isn't the C240 a Kompressor? If so, it has to spool up a bit before you get real power? I drove a compressor model before the C280, only reason I didn't buy ithe seats were terrible compared to the C280, I have a bad back so I am senitive to sitting.

Superchargers don't need to spool up like turbochargers.

When my car does weird things like that, I disconnect the battery to reset the 'puters. That fixes the problem 90% of the time. Sometimes just temporarily, sometimes permanently. Your car may be in "limp home mode" for some reason.

Beware the K&N. Some claim the oil will contaminate the MAF.

It sounds like an air mass sensor fault. If your able to get a fault code out of it that has to do with mixture adaption being out of range, look here. If the air mass sensor is faulty, it is also very difficult to hit top revs. Hope this helps.

I am experiencing the same thing. It is a lag that sometimes gets a little hairy trying to squeeze into traffic. I have not changed the filters or looked at the MAP sensor. Is there anything else that it could be. I am not showing any trouble codes either.

A faulty air mass sensor does not store any codes. Don't ask me why.

Got the same thing on a C230, only its brand new! It seems that I need to give a little more push on the petal (say 1/2") before it starts to move. 300 miles. When I go to the dealer soon I'll ask them if this is 'normal'.

Usually the codes that pop up for this is the Fuel Trim Limit Codes.

But you're right, if the Fuel Trim Limits have not been hit, no codes will be set.
