Default C230K W/57000 miles. Error messages.

05 C230K with just 57000 miles. Check engine light just came on and error "check coolant level" on message board coming on intermittently. Coolant level looks fine to me so I'm a little confused. Any opinions on what's going on with a low milage 230k ? Plus, right side side view mirror does not seem to be heating up. Are all these concerns typical for my car with just 57000 miles? Thanks for the help.

The check engine light could be a number of things. You will need to get the fault codes checked. You could have a slow theromastat which could cause the check engine light to come on. The coolant level could be a little low, making the light come on. It doesn't take much for the light to come on. Make sure it is to the top of the bottle. Do this cold as the level goes up when hot. The third thing id the right side mirror does not have a heater in it only the drivers side.

Yes> if the coolant level has dropped in the bottle, wait until the engine is dead cold and take off the big black cap and look in there. You may need a flashlight to see the exact coolant level. Use the proper antifreeze for these cars (it's yellowish, not green!) and use a 50/50 antifreeze/distilled water mix to top it off. It doesn't have to be all the way to the top full for the sensor to read full. Almost is OK too. The light should go out when you drive it.
Check it cold again a few days later to be sure there's no leak, etc. somewhere.

I'm pretty sure both side mirrors are supposed to be heated. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Corrected the check coolent level issue, but I guess I have to take it to MB for the check engine problem.
