C230K stutter at constant speed

Hi Guys,
my 2003 C230K (70K miles) has got a sawing idle and mild stutter (not misfire) at constant speed issue.
Gets better immediately with more gas
Also becomes better (but does go completely away) when hot (ambient and/or engine).

Had the recall for the vacuum hoses on the air box done w/o improvement.
Tried the CRC Air-Mass-Flow cleaner also w/o improvement.
(Got a replacement cylinder headto fixthe carbon buildup issue on the exhaust valves years ago already).

Could this be an electronic issue: AMF, temp sensor, throttle body, crank- or cam-shaft sensor, ignition coilsetc.?
Also even thoughits dealer serviced, I'm apparently still on my first set of sparkplugs and fuel filter.

Does anybody have experience with these symptoms and proposed fixes on a 230K?

RE: C230K stutter at constant speed

The problem here is, it could be a lot of things. Diagonostic will eliminate you spending any more money on
something it's NOT. Did you say it's "dealer serviced"? What did they say about this? My C230K has 131,000+ miles on it now, and it's a 2005. I put in plugs at about 95K just for the heck of it. Also put a fuel filter in at 60K. I cut it in half
to look inside and it was pretty clean. The plugs were OK, but worn, as you might guess with that many miles, but they were still working fine. Iridium plugs, factory replacements. The car developed a bit of a "rolling" idle sometime ago, and out on the freeway, at a steady 65mph, the tach would go up and down 100 or so RPM for no reason. I bought some Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner. I put it in an almost empty tank of gas and then filled the tank with 12 gallons of new gas. Drove it for about two days, and the car idles dead smooth and no more surging on the highway.
Now, I'm NOT saying this is your problem, but a friend told me about this stuff and it worked for me that one time.
Maybe I was lucky. Usually, I don't go for stuff like that....."Just pour it in your gas tank"......yeah, right. But I'm sold on this product for cleaning injectors. There are a ton of other products out there cheaper, but this stuff works. You have to get the one that says TECHRON. Not the cheaper one. The good one is about 7 or 8 dollars a bottle and the bottle is a black plastic. Again, this may not have anything to do with your problem. If it were me, I would let somebody diagnose the thing and get to the bottom of it before you sink a ton of money into it just guessing. ;)
