C230 Supercharged shuts off
 

Having a problem car shut off after warm up car runs for about 30 min- and then engine shuts off and will not restart for about 30-45 min with hood up trying to figure out if it is the coil packs on plugs or fuel pump and is the fuel pump internal or external if internal what is the long cylindrical thing next to fuel filter ..when car shuts off i take a temp reading of coil packs and closeset to firewall is 15-20 degrees hotter than front is this normal

Sounds like the classic and common crankshaft position sensor failure. Fairly easy to replace on most MB engines. Do some Googling for more information.

yes please do try some googling and see for yourself. normal? it's normally a failure on most cars. replacing your crankshaft is no ordeal since there are a lot of car parts store out there that offers this kind of part. checkout www.mbpartswarehouse.com, www.replacementmbparts.com (not sure if i got the url right), www.apw.com (autopartswarehouse?), www.benzbin.com, www.mercedesshop.com, etc to name a few. ive been buying parts online since I they offer quality parts for a low cost. I can't recommend ebay as a failsafe one since most of the sellers there are posers.

carjunky offers complete info about cars, so you won't be lost. but the best reference material is the manual of your car. i think mbusa.com (official mb site) has some free manuals to check out, albeit im afraid that it aint complete.
